Kanwal is co-founder of Innovation Vault Applications Products & Services Pvt. Ltd (IVAPS), a group of professionals specializing in innovation, intellectual property and information technology business domain.

He has strong professional background that includes extensive experience in innovation, intellectual property management, and decision engineering. He has worked at key positions in a number of leading companies including Infosys Technologies, Aspect Development (now i2 Technologies), Ramco Systems and CREAX Information Technologies. He has vast experience in providing technology thought leadership for building new competitive competencies in advanced technologies and creating high value generating business solutions. His consulting engagements with most admired global enterprises spread across multitude of application domains such as enterprise IT portfolio management, supply chain management, enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management.

He is an Engineer (Electronics and Communication Engineering, Delhi College of Engineering) , MBA (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Aided Management, Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta) and has a Post Graduation Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights from National Law School India University ( Bangalore ).

He is co-author of the book titled Strategic Decision Making Applying the Analytic Hierarchy Process which is published in 2004 by Springer-Verlag (UK) as a part of the Decision Engineering Series.
